A2A Coordinator

The Algonquin to Adirondack Conservation Association (A2A) will be hiring a part-time coordinator, primarily to raise funds to implement its 2007 budget and to establish a framework for permanent fundraising. Once A2A has a permanent fundraising capacity, it will be in a position to hire a coordinator on a full-time basis. 

 

COMPENSATION: $25,000 assuming at least three quarters of A2A's 2007 budget of $260,000 is raised within one year of the date of hiring. If less is raised, compensation will equal 10 per cent of the funds received. 

 

DEFINITION OF PART-TIME:   An average of four hours a day, five days a week.

 

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION:  June 1, 2007

 

START DATE:   As soon as possible

 

REQUIREMENTS:   The position requires:           

            

*           skill in drafting grant applications

*           skill in preparing and delivering presentations to companies and other agencies in the private sector

*           an understanding of environmental issues at the level of a well-informed lay person

*           a demonstrated ability to work efficiently, effectively and harmoniously within a teamwork setting

*           an ability to communicate concisely and effectively

*           research skills at the level of a university graduate

*           on-the-ground experience in organizing public opinion around specific issues

*           skill in promoting issues through the media

*           evidence of innovative skills
