VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

ENERGY PROJECT
COMMUNITY PROFILES RESEARCHER

The Toronto Green Community (TGC) is working on an exciting community
energy conservation project to encourage residents to learn more about
energy conservation and reduce their CO2 emissions.

The project will be working with two different communities with differing
socio-economic profiles in (Lawrence Heights and Yonge & Lawrence areas).
We need volunteers to help us develop profiles of these neighbourhoods so
that we can tailor the project to the specific needs of each area. These
community profiles are to include information on:
-Community centres, libraries, meeting places, places of worship
-Local shops & businesses, green organizations
-Resident groups, community clubs & organizations
-Local events, community notice boards, community contacts
-Statistics on home ownership, low/high income areas, multi-unit
residences, single unit residences
-Demographic breakdowns (languages, ages, average income, etc.)

Much of this information can be found through internet/library research,
however volunteers should be prepared to visit the neighbourhoods as well
(e.g. to map locations of multi-unit residences, determine what shops &
business are on main streets, etc.)

ENERGY AND OTHER PROGRAMS
POSTERING

DO YOU ENJOY BEING OUTDOORS, WALKING, DISCOVERING NEW PLACES? THEN YOU
MAY ENJOY HELPING US WITH POSTERING!

For our Energy project We’re looking for help postering for upcoming
events in the Lawrence Heights neighbourhood as well as in the Yonge and
Lawrence neighbourhood. Please email energy at torontogreen.ca if you would
like to help.

For our other programs, we’d like help postering all over toronto. if you
live in Toronto and have a community centre, a library, a faith centre and
perhaps some local stores that allow community posters and you’d like to
volunteer a few minutes a month, please give us a shout. You would be
helping us tremendously to get the word out about our programming in your
neck of the woods
many thanks in advance! email us at
info at torontogreen.ca.
