December 1, 2007, there will be no PST on bicycles (up to $1,000) and bike
helmets. For press release, see
http://www.premier.gov.on.ca/news/Product.asp?ProductID=1737.

Join Preservation of Agricultural Lands Society (PALS) and Ontario Smart
Growth Network on Saturday, November 24 for a bus tour of the area which
could be affected by a Mid-Peninsula Highway. Bus leaves St. Catharines VIA
Rail Station at 10:30 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m. Lunch provided. The
bus tour includes the headwaters of the Welland River, Dundas Valley, and
Mt. Nemo. To reserve a seat, contact John Bacher at 905-684-4834 or

rail in Hamilton. Visit their website at http://hamiltonlightrail.com/.
OAKVILLE TRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting Wednesday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Oakville Town Hall. There is
virtually nothing on the agenda. The update on the Transit Service Review
is not ready yet.
FOURTH LINE BRIDGE
The bridge across the QEW at Fourth Line has been destroyed to make way for
a wider bridge with proper bike lanes and sidewalks. That route will be out
of service for about a year. Alternatives are Third Line or Dorval Drive.
SIXTH LINE UNDERPASS
The improved tunnel under the QEW at Sixth Line is scheduled to reopen in
mid-December. GreenTrans is in discussion with the Town about having some
sort of event to mark the reopening. Stay tuned for details.
