LET'S KEEP OUR LIBRARIES OPEN RALLY
TORONTO, Oct. 19 - Supporters of the Toronto Public Library will gather
Sunday, October 21 at 12 noon outside the locked doors of the Toronto
Reference Library. The public rally will call for funding from City Hall
that will keep library doors open and books flowing into collections.
When: Sunday, October 21, 12 Noon
Where: Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge St. north of Bloor) - Outside
the Closed Front Doors
Why: Toronto's fabulous library system is a key ingredient in the life of
the city, but the library is under pressure to cut hours and collections.
With nothing left to cut, the library needs a show of support to protect its
funding.
Who: Writers, readers, publishers, educators, book-lovers, library builders
and supporters.
