Eat Local Week
September 9th to 15th
How local can you eat for one week?
Participate in Caledon's First Annual Eat Local Week from September 9th to 15th and challenge yourself to eat as locally as possible. This means prioritizing your food choices in the following manner:
1st choice: Food that is grown/produced within the Caledon area.
2nd choice: Food that is grown/produced within Ontario.
You can keep track of your success with the Eat Local Week Scorecard.
Eat Local Week Events include:
§ Caledon Farmers Market at the Caledon Fall Fair, Caledon Village Fall Fairgrounds, Sunday, Sept. 9th, 10am-2pm
§ Wine Tasting & Local Food at Chesslawn Vineyards & Winery, 8859 Castlederg Sdrd. (just west of Hwy. 50) Tuesday, Sept. 11th, 6:30pm, Cost TBD
§ Lunchtime Local Food Cooking Class at Gourmandissimo Catering & Fine Foods, 16023 Airport Rd., Caledon East, Wednesday, Sept. 12th, 12:30-3:00pm, Cost $30 (send an email to jennifer at caledoncountryside.org to reserve a spot or call Gourmandissimo at 905.584.0005)
§ Mayor's Local Food Potluck, Saturday, Sept. 15th, 6pm (registered participants will be invited on a lottery basis)
Look for Eat Local Week feature dishes (made with all local ingredients) & food at the following establishments:
Terra Cotta Inn; The Belfountain Inn; The Shed Coffee Bar; Inglewood General Store; Caledon Village Bistro; Lynn's at the Cataract Inn; The Millcroft Inn; Ray's Bakery; The Consulate Dining Lounge; Gourmandissimo Catering & Fine Food Shop; Trailside Bistro & Café Howard the Butcher Fine Foods; Chef Talk Bistro; Garden Foods

Registered participants receive the Eat Local Package, which includes the Scorecard, and become eligible for our Eat Local Week prize draw!
