OAKVILLE TRANSIT SERVICE REVIEW

Last night, Entra Consultants unveiled their proposal for new Oakville
Transit routing. The plan is for six base routes, running on major
north/south and east/west corridors. The current local routes have been
mostly retained, although some have been replaced by the base routes or
modified. The overall level of service, once implemented, is expected to be
a 15% increase over the current level. Most service will continue at 30
minute intervals, but the base routes might be a little more frequent.

The Community Bus service (special Red, Green, and Blue routes) will likely
be eliminated. Zone Bus service will also likely be eliminated with a move
to full routes.

I will forward the powerpoint presentation when I receive it.

The consultants are taking back comments and reworking the plan. It is
expected that the plan will next come to Council in November and have to be
passed in the budget for July 2008 implementation.
