You're invited to bring your lunch and join Helge Hellberg as he talks about his experience promoting local organic agriculture through partnerships with educational and environmental organizations, food producers, consumers and retailers. Helge is the Executive Director of California's Marin Organic (http://www.marinorganic.org/), a non-profit organization working to create the first all organic county in the U.S.
And, Paula Sobie from City Harvest (http://www.cityharvest.ca/) will talk about SPIN-Farming, S-mall P-lot IN-tensive Farming, a proven organic-based growing technique that adapts commercial farming techniques to sub-acre land masses. City Harvest is a business which uses urban space in Victoria, B.C. yards or vacant land to produce hand-tended, organically-grown vegetables.
