translates to community action.
Gravel Watch Ontario presents an evening with Elizabeth May, LL.B, Order of

Canada, former Executive Director of the Sierra Club of Canada, discussing
how climate change translates to community action - and what this means in
Ontario's balance between increasing development and environmental
protection.
A question & answer period will follow Ms. May's presentation on issues such
as:
* What happens when a pit/quarry wants to be your new neighbour?
* The Niagara escarpment: how much of it should we mine?
* What is the right trade-off between pits and farmland?
* Should wetlands be turned into pits and quarries?
* Should Lake Superior coastlines be quarried to pave Michigan highways?
* Are pit/quarry applications ever turned down?
* Ontario regulations say pits/quarries are an interim use of the
land --- do you agree?
* Who, really, makes up rules about pits/quarries?
