Canadians say they want a Carbon Tax
So far, over three-quarters of participants in Alternatives’ online poll say the Harper government is failing Canadians by ruling out implementation of a carbon tax.

On January 7, the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy released a report that recommends the government use economic instruments such as a carbon tax or a cap-and-trade system to control Canada’s climate change emissions. Dismissing it as a “Liberal idea,” Environment Minister John Baird has ruled out the possibility of such a tax.
