As part of a taskforce struck by Ontario Federation of Agriculture I would like the input of property owners about draft criteria currently posted on the Provincial EBR site regarding expansion of the Greenbelt.
The Task force team is working to Provincial timelines and will be hosting three meetings to solicit views and experiences in the current Greenbelt as well those that may seek to have new areas considered for inclusion or expansion.
The Team is looking to hear the experiences of present Greenbelt landowners and municipalities in order to understand the concerns and /or benefits before future expansion. Every effort will be made for you to present at one of these meetings. If you can not attend one of the scheduled meetings on this short notice perhaps an online discussion could take place or you may e-mail your thoughts to peter.jeffery at ofa.on.ca
Consultations will be held from 1-4 p.m. in

St George on Apr. 4, 9 Main St., St. George On Hwy #24, heading south turn left at the lights at #24 and Hwy #5 Go into St. George. At the first set of lights turn left. Legion is on the left just past the lights.

Orangeville fairgrounds on Apr. 7 Orangeville Fairgrounds is located north-east of Orangeville on 5 Sideroad, Mono Township, just off Hockley Road, approx. 2.5 km east of Highway 10. and

Peterborough on Apr. 8. Douro Community Arena 2893 Hwy 28 North of Hwy 7 (formerly Hwy 134 crossroad Nassau)

The EBR deadline to submit is April 30 I would suggest that you may also want to submit your own account of the meetings to (EBR) Environmental Bill of Rights Registry.

This is our time to speak up. The timeline is short but your "agricultural property" this is easily the biggest issue facing Ont. Agriculture in the next while. BP
