Here is the Island of Guernsey [one of the Channel Islands, and part of the Duchy of Normandie] and a home to tourists from many places in the United Kingdom and Northern France and beyond. Its attaraction is the Climate [bathing in the West Atlantic Drift or Gulf Stream] and Beaches that are full of - you guessed it - Sewage and Effluent. Read on.

Decline in bathing water quality
Vazon is one of the island's most popular beaches for surfers
The quality of Guernsey's bathing water has dropped in recent years, according to tests carried out annually at 13 of the island's beaches.
In 1998, 92% of the beaches met the most stringent EU guidelines, but that figure has now fallen to 54%.
Bordeaux, Vazon and Petit Bot are among the beaches where quality is down.
Experts say it is hard to know the exact cause of the pollution, but Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) wants a full island sewage treatment works.
The environmental campaign group has been warning that more of the island's beaches could be downgraded if action is not taken before stricter EU rules in 2008.
