Letter to editor of the Tribune St Catherine

I recently got an email with a letter from that heckler in the crowd and
although I agree with much of what he said I do not support the words
against the staff of the town "Craig Larmour "

What I do think should be mentioned is that he had the guts to say what
needed to be said (that the elected didn't)as did the so called heckler.

What I think the press has missed in the ordeal is some very important
facts, and for once its not about the berm, this community is frustrated
with this issue and everybody would like something done be it clear the air
on the issue or jump in and get it done, but surely something has to be
done!!

What angered most was the unacceptable grandstanding by politicians in that
room that night. To paint a picture, imagine each person rising to support
the issue and the people and the town and heck why not the people of this
province while firmly beating their fists of re-election on their chest,
more a Tarzan-meets-Jane move!

What should have happened is we should have been treated with respect and
told the facts up front. I think everyone in that room knew they
(Alderman/women Mayor and all his staff) were aware of what was going to
happen that night. I knew from the minute I read that by law it was not
functional on this issue as is the site alteration bylaw, if you want to get
past a law, those people like the sludge transporters will find away.

So will we blame council then? Ummm yep, simply they are the elected, they
are supposed to know how to make a law and make it stick, this is an
important issue for the town, why wouldn't we have emergency meetings to
find a way, why would the town call all its heads of departments and some of
the community people together to fight this? because well I don't know why
they wouldn't ,makes good sense to me , but we're talking government lets
not
forget. I could go on and on but I won't.

What I would like to say is shame on the elected folk for treating us like
children, shame on these people who pile this crap in and near our waters,
Shame on the MOE for having a boss who will be known as the worst polluter
supporter in government to date.

But more important three cheers for the heckler and Craig Larmour for at
least they said what no others did. And to our towns people who have kept
this topic going - Cheers ! For every person who speaks out becomes another
who woke up to this issue.

It is no longer acceptable to dump this crap in our town, and that at least
a partial win at this point,
