Half a world away in India a hundreds of people protest runoff from a 'sewer
farm'. Sounds familiar doesn't it?
Sounds like stories coming out of California - Virginia - rural Ontario,
Pennsylvania, Florida......

Sewage pollution: protest staged
Special Correspondent - The Hindu
Thiruvananthapuram: Hundreds of people in the Valiathura area on Friday
staged a protest in front of the sewage farm at Muttathara after police
prevented them from blocking a drainage channel carrying raw sewage into
their colony.
Beemapally ward councillor Rashid, who addressed the protesters, said 30
houses were flooded by sewage-contaminated water leaking through a hole in
the boundary of the farm. "At least 450 households are exposed to the health
hazards caused by the pollution," he said.
The residents tried to block the drain carrying sewage from the farm.
A scuffle broke out at the main gate of the farm when a police team blocked
their entry. The situation was defused by the timely intervention of
people's representatives and Cheriyathura Vicar Fr. Eugene Pereira.
