It is a pit that the judge decided to allow the court case to be heard in
Los Angeles...the people of Kern want to get a ringside seat.

Bakersfield -- A judge decided Monday that the ban against Los Angeles
sludge being trucked into Kern County will be challenged in an L.A. court.

Kern County lost the motion to have the lawsuit dismissed or moved to the
valley for consideration.

Lawyers for several southern California waste entities filed the lawsuit,
claiming the sludge ban is irrational and based on "emotional speculation".

Kern County voters banned sludge in the June primary because of potential
ground water contamination and possible damage to the reputation of local
agriculture.
