State legislators will address immigration, transportation and sewer sludge
this week

Now that House and Senate Republicans have announced their transportation
compromise, critics are waiting to see details of the complex bill. GOP
leaders are preparing to guide the fragile compromise through the
legislative process this. Delegate Morgan Griffith said, "When you do a
compromise, you don't make everybody happy. You always feel like you wish
you hadn't had to do this or that, but it's a good compromise that will be
good for all of Virginia."

Also this week the public gets to weigh in on an issue Central Virginia
lawmakers say stinks. The House Agriculture Subcommittee will hold a public
hearing Tuesday afternoon on two of Campbell County Delegate Kathy Byron's
bills dealing with biosolids. Byron and other local lawmakers believe the
Department of Health hasn't properly regulated the sewer sludge which is
made mostly of human waste.
