Sludgewatch Admin:
Here is an opportunity to 'transform' wastewater services through research.
My suggestion to WERF is that they actually implement the 'rapid response
complaint investigation team' concept that was the TOP RESEARCH REQUEST at
the WERF summit four years ago.
Years have passed. And not a single health complaint investigated.
Put that $600,000 into fulfilling the request of your members and
stakeholders to undertake rapid investigation of health (and death)
complaints related to sludge.
That would 'transform' how municipal sewage works slop pathogenic wastes
into rural communities.

Requests for Proposals
The Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) announces its unsolicited
research program for 2007.
Pre-proposals must be received by 5 p.m. (EST) July 20, 2007.
WERF has $600,000 available and is seeking to fund groundbreaking research
that
will advance knowledge and understanding in water quality and that could
transform how WERF subscribers perform their business. WERF will also
consider
proposals that would take existing research to the next level of completion,
resulting in practical solutions to water quality problems.
