Although Resolution 1325 provides a platform for action toward including girls and women in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, peace agreements and negotiations, and reconstruction and development processes, much remains to be done to make positive impacts in the lives of girls and women living with violent conflict. Canadian civil society organizations committed to advancing women’s rights and gender equality continue to advocate for increased implementation to international commitments such as Resolution 1325. The Government of Canada has committed to developing a National Action Plan on 1325.
