Theatre in Society: People, Plays & Politics, the second national Canadian
Theatre Conference for English-language live-performance will take place May
30th to June 1st at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. Over 200 theatre
professionals from all aspects of the biz will converge on our nation’s
capital to discuss points of common interest and envision our future. Look
for details on speakers, sessions, registration and the opening and closing
schmooze-fests this Spring.

A joint conference of the Associated Designers of Canada (ADC), Canadian
Actors' Equity Association (CAEA), the Canadian Institute for Theatre
Technology (CITT), the Playwrights' Union of Canada (PUC), and the
Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT).

Stage Lore

Maybe it’s time to tell your story, share an anecdote from days gone by or
deliver a full-scale rant on Canadian theatre. Equity is seeking submissions
from members for the 2002 Canadian Theatre Conference chapbook. An anthology
of theatre memoirs, the chapbook will be a lasting collection of current
perspectives, for stage artists, educational institutions, policy-makers,
journalists and other professionals in the field. The chapbook will be
distributed to all conference participants and made available for general
sale at a nominal fee. The anthology will be published by the Playwrights’
Union of Canada and all writers will receive credit, however no fee will be
offered. Five CAEA members will be selected from amoung the entries. If you
would like to submit your work, please send original works or drafts on disk
