The Theatre Centre is currently accepting applications for the following
position:
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT (DOD)

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Development’s
responsibilities include:
- The planning and execution of private sector fundraising campaigns for
operating and endowment funding
- Working with the General Manager to establish realistic fundraising
targets
- Working with the General Manager to establish appropriate business
procedures and technical systems to administrate the fundraising campaigns
- Working with the Artistic Director, General Manager and Board of Directors
to strategize long-term capital plans
- The maintenance of strong donor relationships and the servicing of sponsor
benefits

Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge and understanding of Toronto’s not-for-profit arts community
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, marketing and communications

Founded in 1979, the Theatre Centre has established itself as Toronto’s
premiere home for the creation and presentation of innovative new works for
the professional theatre. Its annual activities include the presentation of
new theatrical works for the stage; Body Geometry, an interdisciplinary
performance series of thematically linked choreographic commissions; and
R+D, a two-week workshop with limited public presentation. Professional
development activities include The Debutante Ball, a training and public
showcase program for young dancers, and hosting the Dramaturgy
mini-conference, a two-day professional forum of issues and ideas in
contemporary theatre practice, with participants from across North America.

The DOD is a permanent staff position. Working hours have some flexibility.
