CANADA'S NATIONAL VOICE INTENSIVE- A FIVE WEEK VOICE PROGRAM
Canada's National Voice Intensive is being held at the University of British
Columbia from May 12, 2002 to June 14, 2002.

Under the direction of David Smukler, the popular CNVI is a five-week voice
program designed for professional actors (stage and screen), other
performing artists, voice teachers, and advanced students. The Voice
Intensive faculty has, for fifteen years, continuously refined its approach
to the performer's work. The work at CNVI integrates investigations of
Shakespeare text with vocal, physical, intellectual, and imaginative
practices. These practices balance structure and improvisation, guidelines
and vocal freedom, traditions and contemporary challenges.

The deadline for applications has been extended until April 25th, 2002 (the
intensive begins less than two weeks later so please get your applications
in before the deadline).

The tuition for the Intensive is $850 Canadian with a $20 non-refundable
processing fee and program enrollment is limited to 48 participants. Room
and board for the campus accommodations is approximately $37 a day. Some
financial assistance is available for those in need. For full information
on the application process, accommodations, and any other questions please
see the University of British Columbia website at:

www.theatre.ubc.ca/vi/index.htm.

Please note that applications will not be accepted at Equity Showcase
Theatre but should be mailed to:
