"Homespun"
Want to be part of this year's FRINGE?

True Era is proud to be presenting a new ninety-minute comedy, "Homespun" ,
by Cesare Casciato.

When a woman receives information about her biological parents she never
expected it would have anything to do with her new live-in boyfriend.

What is family? That's what this play asks.

The characters (all about 30 years old):
DD -  Female; at times puts on a tough exterior, but she's all soft inside;
and when she laughs it's infectious; a survivor.
Ed - DD's brother; can fly off the handle, but mainly because he'll do
anything to protect his sister; he's the mailman who steals your
plain-paper-wrapped magazines.
Hatch - Male; in the midst of "finding himself"; gets help from Ed who
invites Hatch to stay with him and DD, but Hatch is also sure there's life
lessons to be learned from surfing the Internet and watching "The Young &
The Restless".
Ezra - DD's agent from the adoption agency; she's hilariously angry at
everything, but genuinely wants to help DD find her biological parents and
peace of mind.

About Cesare's most recent plays: "Familia: You'll Die Laughing!", a comedy,
was staged at Tim Sims Playhouse, and will be remounted at the St. Lawrence
Centre in June for a three-week run; Happy Valley, a dramatic piece,
received a staged reading at Buddies in Bad Times; an abridged version of
the play was accepted to this year's Summerworks Festival.

This is a revenue-sharing opportunity.
