Audition Notice

The Georgian Theatre Festival is holding auditions for its Summer 2002
Season. Audition dates will be Thursday Feb. 21 & Friday Feb. 22, 2002.

The Season will include: The Play’s the Thing, by Ferenc Molnar (adapted by
P.G. Wodehouse), directed by Christopher Brauer, and a Company Cabaret,
directed by Pat Sutton. These 2 shows will run in rep. throughout the
season.
We are focusing on casting the roles of:

1. Sandor Turai (The Play’s the Thing*) – Late 30’s, early 40’s male. This
is the lead role. He is charismatic, quick witted, with a wry humour. This
actor must also be a strong singer, with some dance ability.

2. Albert Adam (The Play’s the Thing*) – 20’s or early 30’s male. He is a
romantic, naïve young composer who is engaged to the lead singer in the
Operetta he’s just composed. This actor must also be a strong singer, with
some dance ability.

3. Almady (The Play’s the Thing*) – Late 30’s, early 40’s male. He is a
famous actor and knows it. He is also in love with the composer’s fiance.
This actor must also be a strong singer, with some dance ability.

*THESE ACTORS WILL BE CAST IN BOTH “THE PLAY’S THE THING,” AND THE COMPANY
CABARET

The rehearsal period will begin in Meaford, Ontario, around the middle of
June, with the shows opening in early July and closing in early August. The
specific dates are TBA.

The Georgian Theatre Festival is based in Meaford, Ont., on the shores of
Georgian Bay. This summer will be our seventh season of running in rep. in
