Job Posting Studio Technician


Factory Theatre is seeking a full-time Studio Technician. Reporting to the
Production Manager, the Studio Technician will also work closely with the
Technical Director, other staff, and artists at Factory. The areas of
responsibility include: acting as onsite sound and lighting operator;
supervision of crews; ongoing maintenance of the space, facility, and
equipment; and working with the Production Manager to ensure the safe,
efficient and clean operation of the theatre.

Factory Theatre is located in an historic building in downtown Toronto. The
facility houses the 100-seat Studio Theatre and 200-seat Mainspace. Also
included on the premises are a large courtyard, administrative offices,
rehearsal hall, and a limited shop. Factory's 2001/2 season features 10
plays and hosts a variety of other activities throughout the year. The
company is committed to the development and production of new Canadian
plays.

The successful candidate must be committed to the artistic vision of the
company and working with a small but dedicated professional staff. She/he
should be a highly organized individual and have good knowledge and
experience in all areas of theatre production.
