The Alberta Playwrighting Competition has a long and noble history, having
successfully launched the careers of many notable playwrights, including
two-time Governor's General Award Winner Sharon Pollock, the Director of The
Banff Centre for the Arts John Murrell and Due South's Paul Gross.  In more
recent years, the APC was responsible for developing the plays Mary's
Wedding by Stephen Masicotte and Apple by Vern Thiessen both of which are
receiving numerous productions around the country this year.

A selection of past winners include:  Brad Fraser, Clem Martini , Marty
Chan, Frank Moher, Connie Massing, Dan Libman, Stewart Lemoine, Lyle Victor
Albert, Robert Clinton, Gordon Portman, Rose Scollard, Gordon Pengilly,
Katherine Koller, Vern Thiessen, and Stephen Masicotte.


Each submission must be accompanied by a Non-refundable Processing Fee of
$40.00 (cheque or money order payable to Alberta Playwrights' Network)
Each submission must be accompanied by a completed Declaration and Entry
form Scripts must not have had, and will not receive, a public production
prior
to 2002.

Open to Alberta residents only.
