THE BUSINESS OF THEATRE (May 25)
How to reach your artistic goals. This workshop is all about setting your
objectives, planning, budgeting, fundraising, grant writing, accounting, and
reporting. Michael Achtman, from Small Theatre Administrative Facility
(STAF), will lead you in a discussion that will touch on such subjects as
incorporating vs. not incorporating, boards, employment vs. self employment,
contracts, dealing with the Receiver General, the Canadian Actors Equity
Association... there is so much you need to know!

PROMOTION, MARKETING AND PUBLICITY (May 26)
How to get your work out there: Clarissa De Young of STAF, will talk about
creating a marketing campaign that suits your company and production. You
will learn about building mail lists, getting media contacts, writing press
releases, creating newsletters, flyer and poster design, printing and
distribution, paid advertisements, listings, etc. etc. etc.

VISITING WORLD PUPPET ARTIST WORKSHOPS
The two workshops and demonstrations below feature performers from the Milk
International Children's Festival of the Arts. To see their shows please
call the Harbourfront Centre Box Office 416-973-4000.

Workshop fees: $10 admission. $5 for registered School of Puppetry students,
students, seniors, members of the Ontario Puppetry Association, and Equity

Figuren Theater's Margrit Gysin, from Switzerland. Margrit is a specialist
in performances for about children the very young.

MY PUPPETS AND TECHNIQUES - PUPPET LIFE
Mikropodium, from Hungary. Andras has invented amazing tiny mechanical
figures, which he will demonstrate and talk about for us.
