Orchestras Canada (OC) seeks an Executive Director to lead the
organization in its mission to "strengthen Canada's orchestral community
through leadership in advocacy, education and professional development."

The Executive Director is the senior staff position at OC, and reports
to the Board of Directors.

Toronto-based, OC has orchestra, ensemble and individual members in ten
provinces. It serves the needs of these groups through conferences,
workshops, publications, employment services, advocacy, management and
artistic development projects. OC has recently launched an innovative
information-gathering project called Soundings, designed to share best
practices across the orchestra industry nation-wide. OC's revenue comes
from government, memberships/member services and private sector sources.
OC has a small and capable staff team, and its activities are supported
by a national board of directors representative of the many
constituencies in the orchestra community.

OC's next leader will be an experienced association manager with a
strong member focus and a demonstrated interest in the symphonic art
form. Studying, synthesizing and communicating the situations of
members is a key part of the position. The ideal candidate will be a
thoughtful communicator in both official languages. They will possess a
flair for program development and evaluation with the goal of better
serving members, and they will be skilled builders of partnerships with
boards, governments, private funders and other service organizations.

Compensation is competitive.
