BOUFFON WORKSHOP

Vancouver welcomes MassimoAgostinelli with a four-day
intensive in BOUFFON for intermediate and advanced
actors, dancers and physical theatre artists.

Tuesday to Friday, October 15-18, 2002, 7:00-10:00pm
Scotia Bank Dance Centre, 677 Davie Street, Vancouver.

Bouffon is a physical theater style that uses parody
of the personality, which reveals the dual nature of
each person and his or her ridiculous aspect. It is
developed through the exploration of four families:
the dwarves, big bums and bellies, the hunchbacks and
the heretic priest.

Massimo Agostinelli's physical approach to bouffon is
known to: "force students and professionals alike to
break through boundaries of self-consciousness and
empowers them with a sense of boldness in performance
presence. The benefits of this kind of work are
far-reaching and long lasting." (Kathryn Ricketts)
Massimo studied with master teacher Phillipe Gaulier
(London/Paris) and teaches Bouffon across Canada and
Europe.

There will be an open showing at the end of the
Bouffon workshop, Friday, October 18, 9-10pm.
Everyone welcome.

$150 ($50 non-refundable deposit required by Oct.8)
This is a not-for-profit event. All fees go to the artist and rental of
studio space.
