Making Dances: Tools, Skills and Processes for Finding what Moves You
Taught by Eryn Dace Trudell ~All levels of experience welcome

THE CLASS:  
Making Dances is geared towards anyone interested in the creative
process of dance making. Interpreters, choreographers and dance
enthusiasts will learn and create together in a spontaneous,
non-judgmental, and playful environment. Day one will focus on creating
a dance together as an ensemble using improvisation scores. Day two will
be dedicated to individuals making their own dances. We will focus on
essential aspects of creating a dance, such as developing personal
vocabulary, clarifying themes, and determining structure. Bring an open
mind, ideas that interest you, and any props, costumes, and creative
tools you want to play with.

Saturday, November 2, 10:00am - 4:00pm, & Sunday, November 3, 12:00pm -
5:00pm Dovercourt House Ballroom 805 Dovercourt Road, 2nd floor Workshop
Fee $75. Cada and Equity discount Register in advance as space is

THE TEACHER: Eryn Dace Trudell is a cutting edge dance artist whose work
is described as "engrossing", "stunning", and "evocative". She has
created over thirty dances, and was a recipient of the Paula Citron
Award for Best Choreography. She has produced five full-length shows of
her own, including Heliotrope, which was chosen as Best Collaboration
in Tanz Actuel, 2001. She shares her life-long delight in the mysterious
expressivity of the body with students in class

THE ALTERNATIVE TECHNIQUE CLASS SERIES: Alternative Technique Classes
(ATCs) are affordably priced, innovative dance training workshops taught
by professional Canadian dance artists. Produced by Series 8:08, ATCs
promote the development and articulation of new, exciting approaches to
dance training. Each workshop is different, both in content and in
format. Teachers share aspects of their own dance practice, such as
techniques that they have developed for movement training, choreography
or performance.
