The Department of Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing at the University
of British Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track appointment
as Assistant Professor of Acting and Directing. Candidates should
possess at least a Master's degree or equivalent professional experience
in the discipline, teaching experience at the post-secondary level, a
record of substantial creative and/or research accomplishment, and
demonstrated cross-disciplinary interests. 

The successful applicant will teach in the Department's BFA Acting, BA
Theatre, and MFA Directing programs, supervise students in these
programs on thesis and and other projects, and provide administrative
service to the Department and the University. Professorial - stream
faculty at UBC are expected and encouraged to sustain a high level of
research and/or creative activity. 

The Department of Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing at UBC is unique
in Canada, with 28 full-time faculty, numerous sessional lecturers and
guest artists, and over 200 majors and graduate students.  Each of the
Programs has a national and international reputation for excellence,
strong undergraduate and graduate degrees, and is a significant centre
for creation and production. Opportunities for projects and
collaboration are abundant, both within the Department and with artists
and scholars across the campus.

This position is subject to funding, and salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience.  Applicants should submit a letter
