Master of Voice for the Shakespeare Globe Theatre in London, England

Stewart Pearce will share unique information concerning
acting the Classics, derived from the experience of working the
reconstructed open~air playhouse originally designed in 1599, for which
Shakespeare wrote many of his greatest plays. This extraordinary 'Wooden
O Theatre' encourages a dynamic relationship between Actor, Audience and
Architecture, an energy that arises from the very essence and being of
the Elizabethan Renaissance.

After an enormously successful introductory visit last March, Mr. Pearce
returns to Toronto to lead his Masterclass workshop in Voice and
Performance for professional actors and theatre practitioners in one-day
sessions on January 13, 14, and 15, 2003.

The cost of a one-day workshop (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) is $140.00 for Equity
actors and $165.00 for non-Equity. Priority will be given to Equity
members. Stewart Pearce's impressive credentials began with his position
as Head of Voice at the prestigious 'Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic
Art' in England from 1981~1998. Since 1998 Stewart has been the resident
Master of Voice at 'Shakespeare's Globe Theatre' and facilitates
Masterclass processes internationally; he has taught in Belgium, Canada,
France, Spain, Denmark and extensively throughout the USA.

For many years Stewart was Senior Voice Tutor at the 'Actors Centre
London' and has Voice Directed with the 'Actors Touring Company', and
other major companies throughout the UK. Currently, Stewart is Head of
Voice at the 'Drama Centre London'.His client list includes the
luminaries of the entertainment industry: Maria Aitken, Minnie Driver,
Helen Lederer, Julia Ormond, Vanessa Redgrave, Simon Callow, Jack
Davenport, Mark Rylance and Ben Walden.

His seminal text "The Alchemy of Voice" will be published in 2003, in
addition to his other text "The Globe's Voice".
