Established in 1985, ALAS is a Toronto-based, not-for-profit
organization
that offers free legal advice (up to 1/2 hour consultation) to artists
of
all disciplines who qualify for legal aid.

ALAS lawyers deal with a wide range of arts-related legal issues such as
questions arising from management agreements, basic incorporation of
companies, and landlord-tenant disputes. All consultations are free of
charge, although a $10 contribution to ALAS is encouraged.
