SHOWCASE THEATRE

Equity Showcase Theatre, located at Dufferin and Dundas in downtown
Toronto is looking for an Assistant Registrar.  The job is available
through a generous grant received from Cultural Careers Council Ontario,
Culture Youth Wage Subsidy program.  The position begins August 5th,
2003 and will finish on March 5th, 2004.  The salary is $450.00 per
week.  This is an intern position.  Some previous arts administration
experience is an asset.  Would suit an Arts Administration graduate.

The successful intern must be:
*Resident in the province of Ontario for at least one year
*30 years of age or less
*unemployed (or under-employed)
*Not receiving EI benefits.


The assistant registrar will be responsible for the "front lines" of the
organization. The principle duties of the position are:

-	Customer service and information services.
	Provide timely information to clients, general public and
members on resources and training opportunities
-	Database development and maintenance.
	Assist with the implementation of a new database to update and
manage information on EST's members and participants.
-	Public relations.
	Co-ordinate and distribute marketing information on EST's
courses and special events.
-	Publishing.
	Work with the Registrar on promoting programs and events.
-	Marketing.
	Work with the Registrar on marketing initiatives that will
expand EST's memberships.
-	Project Management.
Organize, promote all aspects of the special programs we have including
scheduling trainers and studio space, registering participants,
contracting outside sound studios, research and development, materials
preparation, and liaising with associations.
-	Front of House/Box Office.
	Learn front of house for a theatre production.
	Includes managing patrons, learning a computerized box office
system, and putting together theatre displays.
-	Office Management.
	Ordering office supplies, faxing as required, using the debit
and visa/mastercard machines for class payments, processing class
applications, and office machine maintenance and basic office
maintenance including archiving and 	archiving systems.
