Wednesday June 25 at the Lula Lounge will be your chance to catch previews of some of the productions participating in this year\'s Toronto Fringe Festival.

Hosted by Shakespeare in the Rough Alumnus and former Artistic Director, Michael Proudfoot, the evening promises a mix of comedy, music and drama.  Every company will take the stage for a few minutes and do their best to tease the audience and entice them into coming to their show when the festival opens the following week.

Confirmed participants to date include:

Jason Cadieux\'s \"Unleavable\" featuring Stephanie Jones and Peter Higginson When the editor of a prestigious magazine suspects the winning author of his publication\'s annual short story contest to be a fraud he sets out to expose the truth.  A fast paced comedy about how wicked the publishing game can be.

\"By the Bog of Cats\" featuring Ellen Ray Hennessy and John O\'Callaghan In this modern variation on the Medea tragedy, a moody Irish Traveler named Hester Swane has turned her back on her gypsy heritage and settled down near a swamp called the Bog of Cats.

\"That Boy\", this year\'s winner of the Fringe New Play Contest by Paul Gibson Dave and Rik struggle to compose a song for the breakthrough album of a pop/rock diva.  Rik, the less accomplished songwriter, is the diva\'s boyfriend/guitarist; Dave, the more experienced songwriter, is her ex-boyfriend/guitarist.  \'Othello\' meets \'Spinal Tap\'.

David Austin\'s self-titled play, directed by Chris Abraham David Austin was born in Mexico City, in 1961.  David Austin was raised in Mississauga.  David Austin is 5\'8\", 170lbs and has blue eyes and brown hair.  David Austin runs a successful business.  David Austin coaches his son\'s hockey team.  David Austin volunteers his time to help street kids.  11 Years ago David Austin went to Central America and almost didn\'t come back.  He is fond of saying,  \"if you see a turtle on top of a fence post he must have had some help\".  David Austin invites you to his play.

Paulino Nunes\' \"Rodeo Star\", directed by Adam Nashman with Marie-Josée Lefebvre In a hotel room a man and a woman explore each other, dissect the past, and orchestrate the future in this psycho/sexual thriller.

Vanessa Shaver\'s \"Mothers\" featuring Michelle Polak
A bar serves up drinks. An apartment gets messier. Things come together and fall apart. A homeless man does something secretive in the parkette.  There are no actual mothers in this play.  But your mother shapes who you are. Can you run away so far that where you come from can\'t find you? An urban myth. The facts of life.

Jason Jazrawy\'s \"Joint Account\"
What does it feel like to get high?  Does it ruin your brain?  Is it a tool or a crutch?  Our hero has been captured, but he doesn\'t know by whom, or why.  His only \"crime\" has been to smoke pot, and it seems it\'s all his captors want him to do.  Joint Account: an account of the Joint.

\"Highway to Rock n Roll Hell\"
Judas Priest front man Rob Halford finds himself in Rock n Roll Heaven after an out of control motorcycle claims his life. But this supposed paradise is not what it\'s cracked up to be! Joined by Bon Scott of AC/DC, Rob must find a way to summon enough evil to get them a one-way ticket to Rock n Roll Hell.

\"Is This Thing On\" by Ann-Marie B. Zammit
This play combines popular music and comedy to tell a story about friendship and small but significant victories.  Tied together by the love of music, the ensembl
