New Brunswick's premiere English-language professional theatre company,
Theatre New Brunswick (TNB), is pleased to invite applications for the
position of Artistic Director.

Since 1968, TNB has been producing and touring professional theatre for
diverse audiences of all ages. Its role is to foster the development of
the region's artists in the interpretation and realization of theatrical
works including works from the Canadian repertoire. TNB tours each of
its 4 mainstage productions to nine different centres throughout the
province from October - May. Its Young Company produces three
productions which tour throughout the province from January - May. TNB's
popular theatre school, based in Fredericton, has progammes available
year-round.

This not-for-profit company has an operating budget in excess of
$1,200,000.

Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Artistic Director is
responsible for enhancing the company's mission with an artistic vision
that inspires renewal, excitement and growth. Working with the Managing
Director and senior staff, the Artistic Director ensures all programming
meets operational and strategic objectives. The position also has
responsibilities for long-term planning and communications, audience
development, community relations, advocacy, grant preparation, fund
raising and touring.

The position requires leadership experience in the development and
selection of programming for New Brunswick audiences; the cultivation of
teams of playwrights, directors, designers and actors; and the guidance
of artists, technicians, staff and Board members.

The board is looking for an artistic leader with vision, energy and a
commitment to excellence who also enjoys the role of advocate and will
tirelessly promote the interests of the theatre. The ideal candidate
will be a highly motivated and respected artist currently enjoying a
distinguished career in theatre.
