Gizmette is a romantic comedy with a dark side. A parable about the
interaction of humans with technology, it raises questions about modern
relationships, voyeurism, and the choices we all make about where to
draw the line.

Dave, a reclusive robotics designer, is developing a humanoid robot with
a distinctly feminine form. He is struggling to integrate intuitive,
emotional responses into its programming when, on a rare trip outside of
his apartment, he happens upon a lost cell phone. He finds its owner in
the form of Krystal, a free-spirited artist who turns out to be the key
to enhancing his robot's emotional programming.

Alan Marsh's set design reflects the sleek high tech world of Dave,
complete with the constant bombardment of audio and video intrusions
that our world so efficiently delivers. Accomplished film and theatre
director Bernadette Jones has teamed up with her partner and co-writer
Alan Marsh to combine the two media, as the next step in a career that
constantly embraces new challenges. The combination of their
wide-ranging talents and experience has fuelled this project with a
high-octane punch for the audience.

Keeping the technology in check, Gizmette features performances by
talented, flesh-and-blood actors Tammy Isbell (Waydowntown, Showcase's
Paradise Falls,) as Krystal; Dora Nominated* Gord Rand (*Orgy In The
Lighthouse, Canstage's Vinci, Shaw Festival) as Dave; and an
international talent returning from Germany, Susanne Schneider (Toronto
the Good - Artword Theatre, Mephisto - Equity Showcase), as Gizmette.
The production team includes Stage Manager Heather Lacey and Production
Manager Jimmy Pappas.
