THEATRE ADMINISTRATOR 
-----------------------

Native Earth Performing Arts is searching for a Theatre Administrator
for a full time contract position.  The successful candidate will
provide management support for all artistic, financial and management
decisions of the Managing Artistic Director and possess a professional,
outgoing and personable disposition; excellent communications skills and
a passion for theatre.  Previous bookkeeping experience in the not-for
profit sector is an asset, as well as above average computer and time
management skills.  Native Earth encourages applications from fresh and
energetic individuals who are recently emerging as theatre

Native Earth Performing Arts is Canada's premiere national theatre
company.  dedicated to creating, developing and producing professional
artistic expression of the Canadian Aboriginal experience.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day to day operations of the company including maintaining
current leases, service agreements, insurance, office supplies,
equipment maintenance
- Implement and maintain office procedures for correspondence, filing,
computer recordkeeping
- Maintaining financial records and files, preparation of cash flow
projections and operating/production budgets, administration of accounts
payable, accounts receivable and payroll, liaison with bookkeeper and
auditor, prepare complete monthly financial statements for presentation
and analysis to the AD and Board 
- In collaboration with the Managing Artistic Director, prepare
copyright agreements, engage rehearsal and theatre space, prepare
Canadian Actors' Equity Association production, crew and non-union
performer contracts
- In cooperation with the Development Coordinator, develop strategies
and implement special events
- Maintain personnel, membership and volunteer records;
- In collaboration with the Artistic Director, develop funding and grant
proposals, corporate, foundation and sponsorship packages and develop
contacts in corporate, foundation and public sectors to enhance company
revenues
- In cooperation with the Development Coordinator, develop strategies
and implement special events
- Edit all written materialproduced in the office
- Maintain and administer production budgets in conjunction with the
Managing Artistic Director;
- Coordinate and support educational school performances, promoting,
booking, producing study guide 
     
 
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Training and/or experience in theatre administration and management, and
in-depth knowledge of the Native community in Toronto as well as the
Toronto Theatre scene.  A more detailed job description is available by
