Job Posting - Administrator/Bookkeeper

Equity Showcase Theatre is looking for an Administrator/Bookkeeper to
join us here in our Toronto office.  We are a well-established
charitable not-for profit organization serving the professional
development and training needs of theatre practitioners while running a
full season of Showcase productions.
 
The successful candidate will be competent to:

Manage office systems, procedures and databases
Accurately maintain accounts payable, receivable and payroll, and
produce financial reports as required
Prepare bank deposits 
Liaise with auditors at year-end
Maintain required archives and administrative filing system
Maintain correspondence on behalf of the organization
Order office supplies, maintain all office equipment, and negotiate with
outside sub-contractors as required
Troubleshoot, update and maintain office software
Aid in maintenance of website
Organize company mailouts including generation of mailing labels, and
distribution to designated recipients
Organize Board and other meetings, issue minutes and meeting materials
and make travel and catering arrangements on behalf of the organization
as required
Manage membership and donation processes 
Issue donation receipts
 
Candidates for this position should have a post-secondary degree or
work-related equivalent.  Experience in an administrative setting
(preferably not-for-profit).  Solid knowledge of fiscal operations,
economic principles, practices and reporting.  Demonstrated ability to
work in an IBM PC environment with a variety of software including
Simply Accounting 2003, Word 2000, Excel and Access.  Demonstrated
ability to proofread or edit documents using appropriate spelling,
grammar and punctuation.  Experience organizing meetings, travel and
accommodation.
 
The successful candidate will be friendly, positive and flexible, with
excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Proactive and
self-motivated, she/he will exercise tact, good judgement and will
maintain confidentiality.
