NOTE:  This musical is set in Baltimore, MD in 1962.

SEEKING:

SINGER / DANCERS with strong pop singing voices, ages 18-30 to play
various roles in the ensemble and possibly cover the following principal
roles: 

MOTOR MOUTH MAYBELLE:  Female, African-Canadian, 40's-50's.  Seaweed and
Little Inez's mother.  Queen of Baltimore Soul who sings on the local TV
dance show.  Powerful and inspiring, with an infectious personality.
Large physique.  Strong, soulful, gospel/pop singer.  

SEAWEED J. STUBBS:  Male, African-Canadian, to play high school age.
Cool, sexy, good-hearted.  Son of Motor mouth Maybelle who becomes
Penny's boyfriend.  Strong, soulful pop singer. 
 
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
