Odyssey Theatre Position Available:
General Manager

Odyssey Theatre is seeking applications for the position of General
Manager. Entering its 20th season, Odyssey Theatre is a dynamic,
professional theatre in Ottawa. Odyssey is renowned for its unique and
innovative style of theatre, incorporating mask, clown, movement and
Commedia dell'Arte. Odyssey is widely respected for the high quality of
its original work as well as adaptations of the classics. Our season
currently includes a mainstage open-air summer production, workshops of
new plays and workshops for artists. The Company's plans for growth
include collaboration with other theatres, touring and a new facility.

Odyssey Theatre is searching for an energetic, forward looking person to
lead the company in administrative matters. Reporting to the Artistic
Director and working with a dedicated Board of Directors, the General
Manager will advance the artistic vision of the Company, and ensure
successful financial and administrative operations of the organization.

The General Manager develops and implements an administrative strategy
including budgeting, fundraising and marketing to meet artistic goals.
The General Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient running
of the office and for managing summer administrative staff. Key
priorities for the General Manager include grants, fund raising,
marketing and overseeing the Theatre's summer operations. The General
Manager will also help lead Odyssey in developing facility plans and a
touring strategy.

We are looking for creative individuals who want to grow with the
Company. Candidates should have a university degree and experience
working in the arts. The candidate should be passionate about developing
and producing original Canadian theatre. Excellent organizational and
communication (written and oral) skills are essential. Candidate should
also have administration experience, an ability to work independently,
computer knowledge, and the flexibility to work some weekends and
evenings as needed. Marketing, promotion and fund raising experience and
a driver's license are assets.
