PRODUCTION MANAGER

This Canadian organization based in Oakville, Ontario was established in
1995 and presented its first production, A Midsummer Night's Dream in
1996 in Coronation Park. Since that time, Festival of Classics has
produced a single production each summer starting in mid-July and
running until mid-August and has emerged as one of the most important
summer Shakespeare festivals in Ontario.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As Production Manager for Festival of Classics you will work closely
with the Managing Producer, directors, designers and technical staff for
the summer 2004 season. As this is our first season with multiple
productions your expertise in numerous fields will constantly be
challenged as we search for creative and cost-effective ways to meet the
demands of both productions.

Primary Tasks include:
-manage production budget
-manage and account for department expenditures and petty cash
allotments -hiring of technical director and technicians -liaise with
designers to coordinate build and delivery of design -coordinate site
construction (bleachers, lighting and rigging, set, tents,
etc)
-coordinate technical equipment rental (in conjunction with Technical
Director)
-coordinate load-in, preparation, and strike of all venues -coordinate
production staff -liaise with Oakville Parks and Recreation Department
officials (in conjunction with Producer) -liaise with Town officials
regarding permits -ensure proper adherence to Equity, Ministry of
Labour, and OSSA safety and health regulations in rehearsal spaces, on
site, and in all off site build spaces -prepare timely reports on all
aspects of production development and completion -organize and chair
production meetings throughout process

APPLICANTS

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years experience in professional
Production Management, a post-secondary education in technical theatre
or equivalent experience, excellent communication skills, a valid
driver's licence and a vehicle.
