CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - TORONTO

CanStage is calling for submissions for Omnium Gatherum by Theresa
Rebeck and Alexandra Gertsen-Vassilaros

Directed by David Storch

Rehearsals begin September 13, 2004; Opens - October 14 at the Berkeley
Street Theatre; closes - November 20, 2004, possible extension to
December 4, 2004.  Auditions will take place in March.

Please send submissions for the roles of:

MOHAMMED: 25 to 35, of Arab descent, specifically Saudi. Will consider
people of any ethnic background. Should be able to do a convincing
Arabic accent. Will need to learn a fair amount of text in
Arabic--learning it phonetically is fine, but speaking it will be a big
part of the job. Radical Islamist terrorist. Father of 2. Passionate
about the wrongs done to his people and to his family by America and
Israel specifically, and Jews and the West in general. 

KHALID:  30 - 45, of Arab descent. Will consider people of other ethnic
backgrounds.  Extremely well-read and well-educated. Poetic soul.  Love
interest for one of the characters.
