TheatreOne Seeks Artistic Director (Part Time)

TheatreOne, Nanaimo's professional theatre company, is seeking a new
Artistic Director. This position is at present a part-time contract
position, and the company is looking for someone who is or can be a
resident of the Central Vancouver Island area.

The Artistic Director will be primarily responsible for planning and
implementing the company's annual artistic programming, which includes:
directing at least one Main Stage production; and choosing the
programming for Fringe Flicks Alternative Film Series and Just Kidding
(a series of presentations of theatre for children).

Working with the full time General Manager, the Artistic Director will
also be involved in writing grant application and reports; serving as
ex-officio member of the Board of Directors; acting as spokesperson /
liaison with local, provincial and national arts organizations; and
taking part in the theatre's special fundraising events.

Qualifications required:

Recognized experience in professional theatre (especially directing
and/or artistic direction; 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; 
Leadership and teamwork skills; 
Ability to work in a small theatre environment; 
Experience with Boards of Directors.
Experience and interest in alternative world cinema and children's
entertainment would be an asset.
