JOB-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR COMMUNITY ARTS ONTARIO-THUNDER BAY, ON

Community Arts Ontario has grown to reflect: the wide range of artistic
expression that exists, from developmental to professional; Ontario's
cultural diversity; and local arts agency representation from every
region across the province -from small town to mega-city. As such, our
network is uniquely positioned to becoming a leading change agent for
arts development within the province. 

As such, Community Arts Ontario is seeking to hire an interim Executive
Director for a three month period.  This is a straight contract,
beginning February 15, 2004 and ending May 31, 2004, reporting directly
to the Executive Committee of Community Arts Ontario.  

Qualifications:

*	Senior level not for profit arts management experience
*	Extensive knowledge of grant writing and fundraising,
bookkeeping, record keeping, financial management, arts administration
*	Ability and knowledge of not for profit board management and
volunteer coordination and relations
*	Excellent organizational skills
*	Time management skills
*	Ability to travel
*	Excellent interpersonal skills
*	Extensive background in working with culturally diverse and
aboriginal artists and arts organizations
*	Post secondary education and/or experience in the arts sector

Duties
*	Office management and member services
*	Web site maintenance
*	Oversee production of CAO newsletter
*	Bookkeeping, record keeping, grant writing and reporting
*	Preparation of annual audit
*	Special events and conference planning 
*	Delivery of arts advocacy programs and services to our member
organizations and artists
*	Strategic planning for next 3 year period
*	Board and committee support and administration
*	Oversee coordination of annual general meeting

Hours of Work and Work Related Expectations:
*	3 days per week, 7.5 hours per day, with flex time available
*	Must be able to work some weekends to attend board meetings
*	Must be able to work at CAO's office in Toronto
*	This is a straight paid contract, payable bi-weekly
