1. VIEWPOINTS TRAINING WORKSHOP - VANCOUVER
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The cost is $100 or $80 for Equity members.
To register please email viewpointsworkshop at yahoo.ca or call Robin at 604-318-7052

Viewpoints Training provides actors with a clear,
practical way of practicing listening skills and the
art of being fully present and in the moment. It also
helps actors work spontaneously and intuitively and
develops a more articulate and responsive body.

It's a wonderful tool for directors, designers and
playwrights as well. Viewpoints Training provides
artists with a vocabulary to understand and speak to
the physical event of theatre. Viewpoints training
helps theatre artists create dynamic, bold theatrical
works in a very short period of time and is a great
foundation for true ensemble work.

KJ Sanchez is a director and actor, living and working
in New York City. Her collaboratively created play,
Panophobia, recently premiered at the University of Washington's Playhouse Theatre. KJ is a NEA/TCG, Drama League and Fox Foundation fellow. For many years KJ was a member of Anne Bogart's SITI Company, teaching Viewpoints and performing throughout the US and internationally.

Sensorial Awakening Workshop
Sacred Traditions
Theatrical Experience to Re-member
the Power of Human Essence

In this workshop we will enjoy the physical experience of some of the sacred traditions of Humanity - the traditions of Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, and the ancient traditions of the North and Central American first nations. All of this knowledge will be experienced through the sacred art of theatre - for the awakening of consciousness.
This experience is divided into five parts.

1. A) Introduction: the Travelers and the Guides.

    B) Being exercise.

2. In a Lecture-and-Sharing format, we will develop the theme "From DNA to the Universe and Beyond", with the exhibition of illuminated projected images of the theme.

3. Relaxation and Warm Up. Corporal preparation: starting with a guided relaxation and then utilizing the millennium technique of Chi Kung, to bring us to the power of the present moment. This will allow us to develop a sacred sense of energy, in order to get inside the sensorial experience.

4. We will prepare together as we jump into sacred traditions of humanity - utilizing the art of Theatre with dance and music.

5. To close - we will share our experiences voluntarily over refreshments.

This experience is for the Artist and General Public who wish to open their senses to the deeper comprehensions and forces of the universe, and to the forces that exist when we utilize art as a tool for seeking and experimentation.
