MANAGING DIRECTOR FACTORY THEATRE

Factory Theatre seeks a motivated candidate with senior management
experience in the performing arts field for the position of Managing
Director.

Factory Theatre has a 34-year history of play development and
production. Located in an historic facility in downtown Toronto, the
company houses a 100-seat Studio Theatre and a 200-seat Mainspace. Also
included on the premises are a large courtyard, administrative offices,
and rehearsal hall. Factory's 2004/5 season features seven plays and one
play development festival. The venue is also a home for a host of
independent theatre companies as well as both the Fringe of Toronto and
Summerworks Festivals.

The Managing Director will be responsible for the sound management of
the company. Duties will include: annual budgeting; the creation of cash
flow projections; preparation of financial reports; contract
negotiations; supervision of office and production activities;
development of policy; management of the facility and its staff. S/he
will act as both board and government liaison, writing grants and
proposals and identifying new sources of funding. Candidates must have
strong familiarity with accounting procedures, fundraising, marketing,
publicity, office management, and production. Understanding of and
experience with capital campaigns would be a strong asset.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. Available
