E-DRIVE - ACTORS' FUND BENEFIT PERFORMANCE - TORONTO
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------
Singer Nancy White, Canada's queen of the topical song, will headline
"Sharing the Music - An Evening of Song", in a benefit performance for
The Actors' Fund of Canada, the evening of Sunday October 24, 7:30 pm,
at the Alumnae Theatre Studio, Toronto. White, accompanied by Bob
Johnston, promises "a carnival ride through life's little perversities".
Somehow, this seems fitting subject matter for an Actors' Fund benefit.
The Funds' mandate is to provide short-term financial aid to help
entertainment industry workers maintain their health, housing, and
ability to work after an illness, injury, or sudden unemployment.

Three other acts will perform for the benefit, part of the Funds' second
"More Than Applause" fundraising campaign.

The a capella trio Daughters of the Rock are ambassadors of the music,
stories and lore of Newfoundland and it's Celtic ancestry. The three
Daughters are Sherry Squires, Jillian Rees-Brown, and Denise Norman.

Valarie Williams, "The Singer Who Rocks Your World", brings her own
style of powerful, inspirational song to the evening, accompanied by
Howard Lopez and Jonathan Griffin.

"The Many Sides of Her" is a review of songs, written for and about the
fairer sex, by Rick Jones, chosen from his many works for the stage and
screen. Performers include Catherine Glen, Martha Spence, Karen Lee,
Marsha Goold, and backup from the composer.

Tickets are $20 (cash only please, at the door), and ticket reservations
can be made by phone at 416- 767-5987, or by email at
thickandthin at sympatico.ca

The Alumnae Theatre is located at 70 Berkeley Street, Toronto.
