JOB - HEAD OF SOUND - FREDERICTON

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Head of Sound
for Theatre New Brunswick's 2005-2006 Season.

Theatre New Brunswick (TNB) is the only regional theatre company in
Canada to tour all main stage productions. TNB has three divisions, Main
Stage productions, the Young Company and the Theatre School. The
Mainstage touring schedule for TNB is up to nine locations over a
nine-day period 4 times per season.  The tour regimen is challenging and
requires teamwork, a positive attitude and hard work. The Head of Sound
reports directly to the Production Manager but will interact directly
with the various Production Departments.

Responsibilities include:
Supervise all activities directly related to sound effects, live music,
sound reinforcement, and programming sound for all productions on the
Main Stage, the Young Company, and the Theatre School
Responsible for the set up, operation, and maintenance of sound gear for
the Theatre School and the Main Stage, including touring.  As well as,
the set up and maintenance of sound gear for the Young Company
To be a multi-tasking member of the touring company
To maintain, in good working order, all sound equipment both owned or
leased by the theatre
To maintain and strictly adhere to the production budget and
administrative or accounting policies
To advise the director and production manager on sound matters
To maintain and coordinate rentals of sound equipment

Qualifications:
This position requires a dynamic and resourceful individual with
experience as a theatre sound technician. This person must be able to
tour and ready to be called upon to perform tasks other than those
exclusively designated as sound related while on tour and during
production.
