Notice of Available Position
Gateway Theatre: Richmond, BC
Position: Supervisor, Volunteer & Front of House Services
Hours of Work: 9 am - 5 pm (35 hrs/wk)	*will include evenings &
weekends work

Gateway Theatre is a medium sized professional theatre company located
in
Richmond, British Columbia.  Currently in our 21st season, Gateway
Theatre
produces 4 main stage, 2 new play productions and "SceneFirst", our
Canadian
play development program.   Gateway also has Academy classes all year
long
for youth 8-18, a volunteer, rentals, and outreach programs for the
community of Richmond and beyond.

Reporting to the Administrative Director, the successful candidate
provides
direction, coordination and training for all volunteer services and
manages
the front of house (FOH) staff, concessions, and inventory.

DUTIES:
Front of House duties include:
.	Managing the FOH areas for all venue productions and events
.	Recruiting, supervising, and training staff to meet event needs
for all FOH functions
.	Organizing equipment, space and supplies to meet event needs for
all FOH functions
.	Communicating and facilitating inter-departmental FOH
requirements
.	Management of bar and concession inventory
.	Management of FOH and volunteer budget

Volunteer Program duties include:
.	Evaluating volunteer needs for the Theatre
.	Directing recruitment, interviewing, placement, performance
evaluation, and discipline of Volunteers
.	Developing and supervising volunteer training, award program,
recognition program, and 3 annual events
.	Maintenance of assignment descriptions and procedures for
Volunteers
.	Assisting the Volunteer Committee in establishing policy,
developing goals and objectives for the Volunteer Program
.	Consulting with other internal departments in areas relating to
volunteers
.	Editing and supervise production of the Volunteer Newsletter, 5x
per year

QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for a mature, reliable, and friendly individual who:
.	Is a team player, self-starter and can assume responsibility.
.	Can delegate tasks appropriately.
.	Is Flexible, Resourceful, and Organized
.	Has thorough knowledge of fire regulations, safety regulations,
and liquor control board regulations
.	Is detail oriented, good memory
.	Has outstanding interpersonal communication skills & strategies
(verbal and written) and creative problem solving resources
.	Has knowledge and experience with event planning and/or
coordination.
.	Has a good sense of humour
.	Exceptional Computer skills: Microsoft Suite, Database programs,
Internet
.	Qualified with First Aid, CPR and Serving It Right courses an
asset
.	Has Human resource experience relating to staff and volunteers
of all ages
.	Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
