Rapier Wit's Stage Combat and Certification Classes

of being hired again and again.  Everywhere on film, television and
stage, the demand grows for actors who are able to perform convincing
and dynamic violence. Women as well as men are expected to be able to
play physical roles.  Are you ready for such a part? Stage combat can
help you become the dynamic actor you have always wanted to be.  Join a
Rapier Wit class and start improving your physical acting technique
immediately.

unarmed Tuesday February 1 - March 1
Single Sword Tuesday March 8 - April 5
Quarterstaff Tuesday April 12 - May 10

Special Daytime Class
Single Sword Friday January 21 - February 18

Intermediate*
Small Sword Wednesday February 2 - March 2
Broadsword Wednesday March 9 - April 6

All classes run 7:00 - 10:00 pm 
$460 (plus GST) per five week course
$360 (plus GST) for Students, Rapier Wit, FDC, IATSE, Equity and Actra

*A $100 non-refundable deposit is needed to hold a space

Rapier Wit's PAL/Firearm Safety Course
PAL Firearm Course
(Possession and Acquisition Firearm License)

This is a 'must' course for actors, directors, and stage managers.  Its
depth and focus on the entertainment industry make it the only one of
its kind in Ontario.  For liability and safety reasons, all theatre
companies should have a licensed PAL holder on staff if firearms are
going to be used in a production. 

Rapier Wit's Possession and Acquisition License Course will give
participants the opportunity to earn their firearm licenses while
training in safe and effective performance techniques for stage and
film.  The course takes three days to complete with twenty five hours of
training and testing in non-restricted, restricted firearms, and
prohibited devices. 

Class dates are:
Saturday April 2   8 AM - 6 PM
Sunday April  3   8AM - 6 PM
Saturday April 9  10 AM - 3 PM

$475 (plus GST)*
$375 for members of Rapier Wit, FDC, ACTRA, Equity, IATSE, and Students
If paid in full before Monday March 28th

Tuition covers:
a.. Non-restricted firearm textbook, training and testing 
b.. Restricted firearm textbook, training and testing
c.. Stage combat-specific topics: best practices, safety, aesthetics,
choices in blank ammunition, experience firing various blank firearms
both long arms as well as handguns, and instruction in stage combat
performance scenarios.

Space is limited. A $100 non-refundable deposit is needed to hold a
space.

*There is an additional $80 that must be paid directly to the Canadian
Government for the PAL. Instructions for paying this fee will be given
during the course.
