JOB - MARKETING COORDINATOR - MONTREAL

Geordie Productions, a not-for-profit company producing theatre for young audiences, is looking for an energetic, organized, independent, and personable team player to fill the position of Marketing Coordinator/Box Office Manager.  The position is an administrative one, which involves the following responsibilities:

Setting up an annual marketing plan and creating promotional materials for the season.
Spearheading the subscription campaign and helping to expand our current market through new initiatives.
Creating ad copy (print, radio, TV) and coordinating with the graphic designer and other related resources to carry out the advertising campaign.
Soliciting sponsorship and coordinating with current sponsors. 
Acting as a publicist for each Mainstage show: writing press releases, holding media calls and photo shoots.
Acting as box office manager, processing ticket sales (mail, phone, internet) and exchanges.
Overseeing box office and front of house operations during Mainstage public shows.
Coordinating the cocktail receptions for our annual benefit production.
Networking and representing the company at various conferences.
Writing small-scale grant applications on occasion, with the Artistic Director.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and Artistic Director and communicating with the Tour Coordinator; some board/committee relations may be required.
Database management, printing tax receipts, and other administrative duties shared by the Geordie office team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts. The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in the field of Commerce, Public Relations, Arts, or Education.  Furthermore, s/he must have sharp marketing, customer service, writing, and multi-tasking skills.  

Experience in arts administration, marketing for not-for-profit organizations, public relations, or communications is preferred. The candidate must be fluent in English (oral and written), and have functional French. S/he must be computer literate, be comfortable using an IBM compatible computer and be prepared to learn our box office software. S/he must also demonstrate an aptitude for teamwork.  A valid drivers license would be an advantage but is not essential.
